HEAD Soundtrack

The HEAD soundtrack is, in my humble opinion, the best soundtrack *ever*. :-) The songs are superb, and the little clips from the movie are very well put together and give you a general idea of what the movie is about (nothing teehee).

The CD tracks are as follows:
1. Opening Ceremony
2. Porpoise Song (Theme from HEAD)
3. Ditty Diego -- War Chant
4. Circle Sky
5. Supplicio
6. Can You Dig It?
7. Gravy
8. Superstitious
9. As We Go Along
10. Dandruff?
11. Daddy's Song
12. Poll
13. Long Title: Do I Have To Do This All Over Again?
14. Swami -- plus strings (Ken Thorne), etc.
BONUS TRACKS! :-D
15. Ditty Diego -- War Chant (previously unissued version)
16. Circle Sky (live)
17. Happy Birthday To You (previously unissued)
18. Can You Dig It? (previously unissued mix)
19. Daddy's Song (previously unissued mix)
20. HEAD Radio Spot (previously unissued)

Listening to this CD is a delightful experience and should be done by *everyone*, Monkees fans or not. :-) The first track is various stuff from the movie, including very subliminal messages: "Coming .... HEAD .... HEAD .... coming .... soon .... HEAD", that really stick in your mind. If you happen to be listening to this on headphones (HEADphones hehehe), then you might notice how those words (spoken by maybe three or four different people) seem to go in each ear every other time. If you're in the right mood, it really makes you look around, almost scared. hehe. But hey, that's just the way I see it. ;-)

"Supplicio", "Gravy", "Superstitious", "Dandruff?", "Poll", "Swami", "Happy Birthday To You", and "HEAD Radio Spot" are all clips from the movie, not songs (except for Swami, which at the end plays some of "Porpoise Song"). The best one, I think, is "Poll". It's such an exaggeration, you have to hear it to know what I mean. It's great though. Cracks me up every time. :-) "HEAD Radio Spot" is a lot like "Opening Ceremony", especially in the way of, "Coming .... HEAD .... soon .... HEAD ..... coming ........ NOW .... HEAD .... HEAD .... now ....." If you have your CD player on Repeat All at the time, when it loops from the last track back to the first, it's virtually all one thing. :-)

The songs on this CD are "Porpoise Song", "Ditty Diego -- War Chant" (sort of), "Circle Sky", "As We Go Along", "Daddy's Song", "Long Title", "Circle Sky" (live), "Can You Dig It?" (previously unissue mix), and "Daddy's Song" (previously unissued mix). The best song on his soundtrack is, I'd have to say, "As We Go Along". It's my theme song! :-) Words to live by. In fact, in case you don't know the words and am wonders, "What kind of girl is this to live her life by a *song*??", here, go ahead and read the words. :-) The other best songs are "Porpoise Song" and "Long Title". But, *all* the songs are groovy. :-) The alternate mixes of "Can You Dig It?" and "Daddy's Song" are very trippy if you're only really familiar with the original version .... this time around they are sung by the writers of the song -- Peter for the former song, Mike for the latter. It's quite odd compared to Micky (former) and Davy (latter).

If it's songs you crave, this is the CD for you. If it's sound clips and movie bites and previews you crave, this is the CD for you! :-)
